AADITYA COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE (ACE IN)
AADITYA's
Community Empowerment program targets the very marginalised segment in New Delhi,
NCR, Faridabad, Haryana and Alwar, Rajasthan, who have no access
to basic education other financial support. Typically, these segment comprise
girl child, childs with disabilities, the most disadvantaged tribes and castes,
HIV or AIDS-affected families and squatters and pavement dwellers.
Through
the AADITYA field office in New Delhi, India, the ACE program identifies small,
grassroots clustures, slum camps, tribal villages that link AADITYA's basic education
program with other poverty-alleviation programs that provide health care, vocational
education and microfinance (support).
Cooperation among AADITYA and
active citizens (social partner) has helped thousands of such children to access
basic education and vocational training and to learn how to create and participate
in Self Help Groups (SHG).
Tea Stall boys, Fruit vendors, hotel/dhaba
workers, car washerss, paan-shop owners, furniture makers, artisans and people
who do electrical repairs are among the many who benefit from AADITYA's approach.
