AADITYA works in the poorest areas of the community, focusing its efforts on women, children, people with disabilities and rural artisans.
 
How It Works

The AADITYA model has proven an effective method of alleviating poverty. Running a small business is a viable alternative to a minimum-wage job. It also allows flexibility for those with child-care responsibilities who may need to work from home.


Results

Reports from Fiscal Year 2006 show that in the previous year -

• Many projects have been launched or expanded since 1997, of which 13 were launched or expanded in 2006
• 91 percent of members are women
• 71 percent of members are under 18 years old
• 51 percent of members considered their AADITYA activities their primary source of income
